Now more than ever top talent is one click away. During the Covid pandemic a lot of professionals were forced to work from home and for us headhunters that meant cutting face-to-face meetings to a bare minimum, if not entirely. Such were the restrictions in Romania and Bulgaria for long periods. A platform like Teams was there to save the day. 

Notably, big companies still, even more so, needed to attract top talent, therefore, executive search projects were essential. At TARGET Executive Search both in Romania and Bulgaria we’ve had very dynamic and busy past 2 years. All’s happening at full speed - identifying the most suitable top managers for our clients, approaching them and meeting them online almost immediately. If in the past a top manager had to find a slot of several hours in their busy agenda to fit you in for a face- to-face interview, now an online meeting doesn’t involve city traffic and is thus much easier to plan right away. What’s more, regional roles often require searching for the right candidate, in our case, across Bulgaria and Romania. Organizing the meetings means logistics and time, while clients these days need lighting-speed results. 

I remember the days when I had to travel to North Bulgaria say and spend an entire day or two interviewing the selected candidates, who, on their part, had to reach the chosen destination. We have to agree then that indeed every cloud has a silver lining, don’t we? In challenging situations, we have to adapt and fast, but most importantly, we must excel as well. What do you think? I sure do miss face-to-face meetings on a regular basis, but I’m also happy to be able to meet the growing demands for speed and flexibility, and cut back on travelling while doing so.
